Uwe Boll’s Postal

Uwe BollI’m not sure whether there is some sort of recursion limit that prevents blogging about a blog, but the Game | Life blog at Wired has a great post about Uwe Boll’s new movie, Postal. At first I thought it must be an elaborate joke, but since the movie has an Internet Movie Database entry I’m assuming it’s for real. It sounds… terrible:

“Al Qaeda raids Little Germany, a fictional theme park owned by Uwe Boll, who plays himself in the movie. He plays up any and all stereotypes about himself in the film, which would be pretty funny if it wasn’t up to and including the one about how his movies are financed with Nazi gold. He pays Troyer in gold teeth. You can imagine where these are suggested to have come from.”

Between Boll (director of Alone in the Dark, Bloodrayne, and the upcoming Far Cry) and Paul W. S. Anderson (director of Mortal Combat, Resident Evil and Alien vs. Predator) it seems like there is no limit to suck that can exist when movies are based on video games. And don’t even get me started on how Alien vs. Predator didn’t need to be based on a video game…
