Every so often I make up a mix CD of my favorite songs at the moment; mostly new songs, but with some old songs sprinkled in for flavor. I thought it’d be a neat feature of this new blog to go through, song-by-song, and explain a little about why it appeals to me.
One good Brit deserves another, or five to be exact. The second track is “Sewn” by newcomers The Feeling. The song was enormously popular in England, but only made a splash here as an iTunes Single of the Week and appearing on a couple of television shows, as well as being featured as a VH1 You Oughta Know artist.
The song continues a fairly mellow introduction to the album, but the lyrics are more serious. The singer is trying to convince himself to come out of his shell and tell the girl he loves about his feelings. Who among us hasn’t been there?
As I mentioned before, I got this song for free from iTunes. I haven’t investigated any further music from The Feeling.
Next time: they’re not British, but they kinda sound like it. Could they be the next big thing?
