Charity can make us do some pretty stupid things sometimes, but it’s all for a good cause. The latest is LoadingReadyRun.com‘s “Desert Bus” for Hope. Basically, it’s a video game marathon: they play a game specifically suited for this kind of madness and raise money for a charity in the meantime. The game? Basically, a simulation of driving from Tucson to Las Vegas. In realtime. At 45 mph. And if you crash the bus, a tow truck takes you back to Tucson. In realtime. At 45 mph. Truly, an idea of Wambaughian proportions.
They hoped to raise a couple hundred dollars. They planned on one, maybe two trips to Sin City. But four and a half days later, they came out with donations of more than $22,000.
